Fedding Fresh Food
I feed fresh food to all of my rats 3 to 4 times a week. It provides them with variety, extra nutrients, vitamins and minerals! I still feed my grain mix on the days I feed fresh foods but I add a little less to their bowls.
I always try to include a wide variety of ingredients (you can find great recipes here RECIPES) but I base all of my meals on a mix of:
- Fresh Greens and Vegetables
- Protein
- Carbs
- A Little Healthy Fat
- Fruits (I add in occasionally and in small amounts as it is higher in sugar content.)
